Based on the infamous Nissei Meters, these clones do an excellent job of indicating average audio power, and combined with a brain (such as the excellent Expat Audio VU Meter Driver- https://eaudio.us/VUMeterDriver) these can be used to switch between LIN, RIN, LOUT, ROUT AND Gain Reduction!.

This is essentially a DC Current meter, as such, audio must be rectified before input to the meter. It also contains a small 12VDC bulb to give a lovely "warm glow" effect.

The meters are imported from China, and are individually tested and calibrated here in Dallas, TX. They are given a test signal, and the gain and offset are calibrated. Your out of the box experience will be far superior from a no-name Aliexpress purchase!
